Earthquake

Southern California is earthquake country. While the majority of earthquakes are minor and cause little damage or injury, the Southern California Earthquake Center, headquartered at USC, has long warned that a major earthquake is a certainty for our region.

USC has implemented a wide range of measures - from retrofitting university buildings and securing furniture and heavy items to training volunteer teams and offering workshops for students, faculty and staff - to make the University Park and Health Sciences campuses as earthquake-resistant as possible.
